About
coingmi shows the top 1000 cryptocurrencies on a single page. The bar at the bottom rewinds the ranking to any past day. Press play to run through the whole year.
All market data comes from CoinGecko. The site stores one snapshot of the top 1000 per day and builds its history from those. Percentages for the current day are CoinGecko's own figures. For past days they are calculated between stored snapshots, and where no earlier snapshot exists to compare against, the value is shown as "—".
History from before the site launched was filled in afterwards, based on the coins that were in the top 1000 at launch. Coins that had already dropped out by then are missing from those earlier dates. This part of the timeline is drawn with a dashed line.
Coins that leave the top 1000 keep their page and remain searchable. All dates are UTC, measured shortly after midnight.
